The Water Festival

The water festival is one of the most joyful and significant festival in the Cambodia culture. This festival is celebrated annually for three days on the Tonle sap river in front of the royal palace. During these three days in the Phnom Phen have a lot of people that come to visited and celebrate the water festival. Now I have some observation about the water festival to describe. First of all, after the tragic events on the last day of the festival in 2010, it was canceled the following three years. Then, the water festival was restored in 2014, even if has a little visitor that attend the festivities. In 2015 the government has been canceled again because of the water level is too low. Eventually, in 2016 the water festival took place in its former glory with a good atmosphere and lots of visitor. Now in 2017 the water festival had been celebrated again with wonderful events. Pchum ben festivsl

At frog cave pagoda At pagoda Pchum ben is one of the most important festivals in Khmer religion and it is celebrated for three days, 19th, 20th, 21st. Cambodian people always organize their home and prepare food to go to pagoda. My family and I had many activities to do in these three days. For the first day, I had some activities to do in this day. In the morning my family and I visited my grandmother’s home. When we arrived, my aunt was calling my mum and I went to the pagoda to dedicate merits to my deceased. When we came back to grandmother’s home and we had a small discussion. Then we had gone to market to buy food and ingredients for tomorrow events. After lunch, my parents took a rest and I went to coffee shop with my friend to play game and eat snack. At Jet's container      Last week, my friend came from Thailand and we had a small party with each other. First of all, we went to Aeon supermarket for ate pizza, sing a song and play game. Moreover,at night we went to jet's container for ate and drank something. We ate a lot of kind of food. For example, we ate fried rice,french fried, meat ball and fried chicken. Nevertheless, he came to Cambodia for a short time but it is very happy. As a result, next day he went back to Thailand for continue his study. All of us miss him so much.

The best moment in my life

Khmer New Year Festival  It is such the best memories in my life when we, my family and relatives have a great time together. Especially on special events like Khmer New Year, Pchum Ben festival or Chinese New Year, we can meet one another at hometown. The best time for me and the happiest moment is Khmer New Year. Before that, we always have a party, go somewhere or discuss with each other. During the three days of Khmer New Year, in the morning all of us help each other to make food for going to pagoda and we always have big lunch together when coming back home. After lunch we usually go to the farm to enjoy together. When we are back from the farm, we often go to restaurant to have dinner. It is very delighted and full of happiness. When the ceremony is over then we are back home and continue our work as usual. So the best moment in my life is my family reunion.
